Popular Conservative Writer, Bre Payton, Dies From Flu

A writer for the Federalist who made several appearances as a guest on Fox News died. Bre Payton was 26 years old and in the prime of her career. Her friend, Morgan Murtaugh, found Payton in a state of unconsciousness on Thursday. At the hospital where Payton was treated, health officials said that her death was a result of H1N1 flu and meningitis.

Meghan McCain said she is “gutted and horrified” by the news of Payton’s passing.

Some on social media celebrated Payton’s passing, claiming she’d made a previous anti-vaccine Tweet.

In 2009, the WHO declared H1N1 flu as a pandemic under the more popular name, swine flu.
