Over 50,000 Pregnancy Tests Recalled For Giving False Results
58,000 of the popular Clear & Simple Digital Pregnancy Tests have been recalled for giving false results. The manufacturer, Guangzhou Wondfo Biotech, has warned anyone in possession of any of their units to check the identification numbers and dates located on the packaging.
If units have lot numbers of DM10220170710E, alongside an expiration date of January 2020, they should be considered defective.
The 58,000 units were sold to consumers in the United Kingdom.
Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency’s Dr. Duncan McPherson told Huffington Post, “It is important people check the lot number of any Clear & Simple Digital Pregnancy Tests they have purchased to see if they have a product from an affected lot.
“Patient safety is our highest priority. We strongly encourage anyone to report any issues with this product, or more generally with any medical device, to our Yellow Card Scheme.”
