Dennis Rodman Visits North Korea….They Release American Prisoner
Dennis Rodman is once again back in North Korea, this time telling an onslaught of media members at the airport that “Trump is probably happy about it.” There has been no word from the White House as to what the President’s position on Rodman’s visit may or may not be.
Causing the situation to be even more oddball (as if it could be), North Korea released an American prisoner to the United States. Otto Warmbier, 22, a University of Virginia, who was captive for 17 months, was freed (albeit in a coma, which North Korea refuses to explain the circumstances surround the cause). Many speculated that Rodman’s journey was, in fact, to help negotiate the release of prisoners.
Yes, former NBA rebounding great, Dennis Rodman, potentially negotiated (or inspired) the release of an American prisoner in North Korea. There’s not proof, only speculation that could be the result of convenient timing.
But it is possible that the lunatic nation decided to take a slight at Trump by releasing a prisoner on behalf of Rodman’s visit. It wouldn’t be too entirely surprising.
Trump’s communications with Kim have ranged from oddly flattering, calling him a “smart cookie,” to a near violent rhetoric pronouncing that he has no issues with hostile engagements with North Korea.
Explaining the causes of Warmbier’s condition might further erupt domestic hostility.
“Otto has been in a coma for over a year now and urgently needs proper medical care in the United States,” Richardson said in a statement obtained by Fox News. “We received a call from Cindy and Fred Warmbier early today to update us on Otto’s condition. In no uncertain terms North Korea must explain the causes of his coma.”
I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for North Korean officials to offer up any explanation, even after Kim finishes playing XBOX with Rodman. North Korean prisons are essentially torcher chambers, any reasonable person could surmise a great deal regarding the “cause” by having such understanding.
