Dr. Fauci Admits He’s Loading Up on Vitamins D and C
Dr. Anthony Fauci continues to be the public’s main coronavirus correspondence, although to some he’s a controversial figure as such. Now Fauci is recommending that everyone ramps up their vitamin D and vitamin C intakes to help ward off coronavirus.
Fauci made these recommendations while on Instagram Live with actress Jennifer Garner.
“If you’re deficient in vitamin D, that does have an impact on your susceptibility to infection. I would not mind recommending, and I do it myself, taking vitamin D supplements,” he said. “The other vitamin that people take is vitamin C because it’s a good antioxidant, so if people want to take a gram or so of vitamin C, that would be fine.”
New research and evidence show that people deficient in vitamin D are more susceptible to the harsher symptoms of coronavirus. Many researchers leverage vitamin D to help stop, or lessen coronavirus symptoms. Vitamin D defiency seems to be linked to increased risk of coronavirus. People with darker skin are especially high risk given that melanin slows production of vitamin D.
Vitamin C has always been known as vital for our immune systems, but with a current pandemic environment, many people are revisiting this popular vitamin’s usefulness.
Fauci told Garner that using elderberry, or spinach, won’t help children.
“The answer, to the dismay of many, is no,” Fauci said.
That’s an odd statement given that both contain vitamin C.
He also slammed herbs in general.
“Forget about them,” he said. “Any of the other concoctions and herbs I would not do.”
