Furious Mom Rages At California Board Of Education Over Sex Courses
A mother’s furious speech before the Sacramento board of education is going viral this morning. The unidentified mom slams the BOE for what she describes as school overreach in the area of sex education. At times, the mother raises her voice and waves her hands at the BOE members. She’s cheered on by other onlooking parents.
“We as parents can decide what we teach our kids when it comes to sex when it comes to relationships, it is not the job of the board of education. Their job, and let me tell you, their not doing a very good job of it, is reading, writing, arithmetic.
This is an indoctrination of a gay agenda that has no place in our schools.”
Her speech has caused controversy all over the web, with some parents feeling that the mom’s rhetoric is “anti-gay” in nature.
However, no matter how you might feel regarding this particular mom’s feelings, it is difficult to ignore that schools are overreaching in a number of areas, including sex education. Yes, sex education was likely effective during its advent; however, its sharply turned into a confusing, politicized movement.
Having disagreements as parents are normal and natural, but one thing should always remain: a parent’s inherent right to decide how their child’s sex education is geared.
Do we honestly need schools doing the work of parents?
Many other parents complained that their hometown schools were teaching 12-year-olds about subjects such as “anal sex.”
