Greta Thunberg Accused of Lying About Train Conditions
16-year-old climate activist, Greta Thunberg, is in hot water with a German train company after they claim she lied about seating conditions. Thunberg, traveling by way of Deutsche Bahn railway from Kassel to Hamburg, tweeted out a lonesome photo of herself on an “overcrowded train.”

Deutsche Bahn initially apologized to Thunberg, but later redacted the apology after gathering more information. The railway company says Thunberg was, counter to her claims, “treated friendly in first class.”
They went on to chastise the outspoken activist about her unfriendly approach towards hard-working train employees.
“It would have been even nicer if you had also reported how friendly and competently our team served you at your seat in first class,” the company added.
Other train patrons countered Thunberg’s claims with their own experiences.

Thunberg, after enduring massive blowback over her original tweet, stepped back her tone in a later tweet.
“…this is no problem of course and I never said it was,” she tweeted. “Overcrowded trains is a great sign because it means the demand for train travel is high!”
Thunberg continues to create media hysteria on both sides of the political spectrum. However, it’s tough to maintain a position atop the proverbial soapbox without being tripped up by eventual hypocrisy. When you publically shout down others, your every move, consequently, is monitored.
