BRAZIL IN SHOCK: ‘Trump Like Candidate” Wins Presidency In Landslide…

Brazil has elected “far-right” candidate, Jair Bolsonaro, as President of the country. Bolsonaro campaigned on “normal” policies, thought the mainstream media labeled him as “far right.” His victory is another indication of the “Trump effect” across the globe.
Bolsonaro is a pro-gun and security oriented populist politician that’s now disrupted Brazil’s typically heavy liberal seating.
The 63-year-old Bolsonaro is a former paratrooper who says he will “crust corruption.” He’s also called out many politicians in the country as a “communist threat.”
Liberal rival Fernando Haddad only mustered 44.5% of the vote.
“We cannot continue flirting with communism … We are going to change the destiny of Brazil,’ Bolsonaro said in a victory speech from his home.

Much like President Trump, Bolsonaro will encounter a progressive resistance throughout his term. The media has already begun its assault on the newly appointed president.
“The extreme right has conquered Brazil,” Celso Rocha de Barros, a Brazilian political columnist, told the election night webcast of Piauí magazine. “Brazil now has a more extremist president than any democratic country in the world … we don’t know what is going to happen.”
Two days ago, the Washington Post described Bolsonaro as “Mr. Rogers” when compared to President Trump.

The populist “Trump effect” sweeping the globe has liberals on their heels. Liberalism and increased government authority seemed all but certain over the past decade. However, the progressive movement is now functioning in a space of resistance and obstruction.
The midterm elections will take place in the United States on November 6th, a date that progressives hope to regain a semblance of former power.
The United States, Italy, Ontario, and now Brazil, have all indicated that the world is rejecting extreme left agendas.
