‘Irregularities’ found at Jeffrey Epstein jail’ as Barr grows more furious
Attorney General William Barr, commenting on the Jeffrey Epstein autopsy, says “serious irregularities” have already been discovered at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York. Barr says that the prison’s security staff “failed to adequately secure this prisoner.”
Epstein was found dead in his cell on Tuesday from what has originally deemed a suicide. But the cause of death has raised intense speculation amongst people who support both sides of the aisle. Additionally, politicians ranging from President Trump and Representative Ocasio-Cortez have remarked about Epstein’s death as if it’s somewhat inexplicable. Trump, more precisely, shared a Tweet that accuses Hillary Clinton of a Epstein’s murder, a sentiment shared by a number of people online over the weekend.
Barr didn’t provide any specifics into the ongoing investigation, but says that anyone who helped Epstein in his criminal activities “should not rest easy.”
Both the FBI and Inspector General are now tasked with investigating the strange circumstances surrounding Epstein’s death. Further complicating matters, the Medical Examiner determined the official cause of Epstein’s death to be “inconclusive.” This runs counter to the original assumption that Epstein was found having hung himself in a rather cut and dry case.

What is becoming more known is that prison staff tasked with monitoring Epstein did not do their jobs. Checks were supposed to be run on Epstein’s cell every 30 minutes, but this did not happen according to sources. The jail claims they are understaffed, but that diagnosis doesn’t fly considering the prominence of an inmate of Epstein’s caliber.
Barr, according to the same ABC News article, is furious over the findings. He’s reportedly “determined to get to the bottom of this” situation.
“I was appalled to learn that Jeffrey Epstein was found dead early this morning from an apparent suicide while in federal custody,” Barr said in a statement. “Mr. Epstein’s death raises serious questions that must be answered. In addition to the FBI’s investigation, I have consulted with the Inspector General who is opening an investigation into the circumstances of Mr. Epstein’s death.”
Officially, Epstein was not on suicide watch. But why the suicide watch protocol was removed shortly before Epstein’s death remains a mystery. As well, the situation is raising tensions in an already divided America. Distrust for the government has rarely been this high in modern history. It’s rather clear that most people believe something nefarious occurred as part of a government coverup, though each side pins the other side with such responsibility.
While the criminal case against Epstein proceeds, the loss of the state’s most necessary witness certainly harms the process.
