Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has a new, powerful Hollywood star alliance in his crusade for vaccine safety. Yesterday, Kennedy Jr. appeared before the California State Assembly alongside actress Jessica Biel to lobby against SB 276. Kennedy said that Biel is “courageous” for coming out and helping support his cause.

SB 276 forces doctors to get state public health officer approval before giving medical vaccine exemptions. The state claims many doctors are selling off medical vaccines and claim that SB 276 will help limit such activity. But critics believe the bill gives the state too much power over medical professional and parental rights. Even California governor Gavin Newsom isn’t fully on board with SB 276.

Jessica Biel and husband Justin Timberlake have long been suspected as being “anti-vax.” A 2015 article in In Touch Weekly reported a source saying that Biel feels that vaccination could cause complications.” But the power-couple never fully confirmed the report.

Kennedy believes that the term “anti-vaxx” is a label created by the pharmaceutical industry and is used to slander and disrupt those who aren’t fully on board with vaccines.

“I would say that she was for safe vaccines and for medical freedom,” Kennedy said.

Kennedy believes its a “my body, my choice” debate.

But governments worldwide believe that portions of people passing on vaccines cause a public health crisis. The media is blaming the current measles outbreak on the anti-vaccine movement.

“She was a very effective advocate,” Kennedy said of Biel. “She was very strong and very knowledgeable. Extremely well-informed. An extremely effective advocate. She knows what she’s talking about… She’s upset about this issue because of its particular cruelty. She has friends who have been vaccine-injured who would be forced to leave the state.”
