Kevin Spacey Admits To Sexual Advances Towards Teen In Awkward Statement
Kevin Spacey is now under fire, but it might well be his response to accusations that he attempted to sexually engage a 14-year-old actor that become the heart of the story. Spacey is accused of making sexual advances towards then 14-year-old actor, Anthony Rapp. Rapp, who is now 46, claims that Spacey invited him back to his Manhattan apartment in the mid-80’s, where he layed on top of the then child. Rapp claims Spacey came in the room and laid “down on top of me…he was trying to seduce me.”
Spacey, as well as a slew of his movies including the blockbuster hit, American Beauty, have been trending on Twitter all night. But it might be Spacey’s awkward response suggesting he did do the actions that are garnering the most attention. In the response posted on his Twitter account, the House Of Cards star seems to blame being “drunk” and then goes on a diatribe about his privacy (or lack thereof) regarding his status of being bisexual. He claims to “not remember” the incident, but apologizes anyways and lets it be known his deep admiration for Rapp.
It almost seems as if Spacey is using the opportunity to discuss his own personal struggles with sexual preference privacy, either for purposes of distraction or for because Hollywood icons seem to live in the most narcissistic of manners no matter what the circumstances surrounding them may well be.
Comedian Wanda Sykes slammed Spacey for his reaction to the allegations.
“No no no no no! You do not get to ‘choose’ to hide under the rainbow!” comedian Wanda Sykes, who came out as a lesbian in 2008, wrote on Twitter. “Kick rocks!”
And there was more…
“Kevin Spacey has just invented something that has never existed before: a bad time to come out,” Billy Eichner stated.
But it was actress Rose McGowan who made the most impactful reaction regarding Spacey’s semi-admission over the matter.
“Bye bye, Spacey goodbye, it’s your turn to cry, that’s why we’ve gotta say goodbye.”
