Marvelous Marvin Hagler Dies at 66, Controversy Over COVID-19 Vaccine Ensues

Marvelous Marvin Hagler, one of boxing’s biggest legends, has passed away while in the ICU on Saturday. His family put out a statement attributing his death to natural causes, but earlier in the day, former professional boxer Thomas Hearns said Hagler was sent to hospital battling COVID-19 vaccine side-effects.

Hearns was one of the most dominant middleweight boxers of all time. He beat Hearns in 1985 by knockout.

‘A real true warrior Pray for the king and his family.. he’s in ICU fighting the after effects of the vaccine! He’ll be just fine but we could use the positive energy and Prayer for his Full Recovery!’ Hearns stated on Instagram.

However Hearns, maybe unwittingly injected himself into a vaccine controversy, sought to calm hysteria over his previous statement.

‘Allow us to have our peace. Our love and respect to Marvin and his family, this is not an anti vaccine campaign… it’s outrageous to have that in mind during the passing of a King, Legend, Father, Husband and so much more.’ He said later.

His family’s statement, which appears on Hagler’s personal/professional website, read,  ‘We are very sad to report that Marvelous Marvin Hagler died on March 13 of natural causes near his home in New Hampshire. He was a champion until the end. His family asks for privacy at this time of sorrow.’

Hagler’s dominance in the 1980’s is legendary. He crushed new boxers looking to penetrate the middleweight scene.

It’s unclear whether or not the claims of Hagler taking a COVID-19 vaccine shot prior to his death are truthful. As for now, it’s a controversy that it seems at least Hearns wishes would cease.
