Newark Issues ‘Airport Emergency,’ All Flights Grounded
Newark Liberty International Airport announced on Twitter than an “airport emergency” is delaying both arrivals and outbound flights. But what the emergency is remains unclear.
Below is a tweet directly from the airport:

The announcement was made by the airport at 8:45 am. As it stands, all flights are grounded. While Newark airport officials haven’t declared what the emergency is, it may be related to an emergency landing.

The plane potentially suffered major hydraulic issues prompting an emergency landing. It’s possible the airport grounded flights as a measure to help clear runways for an undetermined landing spot.
Reports are still coming in.
