Oklahoma Homeschool Laws
Children between the ages of 8 and 16 years should have some means of education for at least 3 months of each year. If homeschooling is your means of education, parents are not required to contact, seek approval, follow a specific curriculum, or register with any school or State body, nor have their children tested.
In other words, Oklahoma Homeschool laws are cut and dry, heavily favoring parental choice.
According to Oklahoma’s article XIII Section 4, Oklahoma homeschooling is validated via their state constitution.
“The Legislature shall provide for the compulsory attendance at some public or other school, unless other means of education are provided, of all the children in the State who are sound in mind and body, between the ages of eight and sixteen years, for at least three months in each year.”
Oklahoma Homeschool Vaccine Requirements
In Oklahoma, vaccines or an exemption certificate is required for school attendance. The State allows for personal, religious, and medical exemptions and parents need to simply fill out a form if your child is attending school. Nothing is needed if you plan to homeschool your child.
