Oliver North Ridiculed For Blaming Ritalin On School Shootings
Whenever we go against the ruling class, elitist perspective that our Second Amendment rights are the cause of all shootings, public shaming sessions are carried out. Oliver North is now being shamed by mainstream media outlets for stating exactly what many of us are thinking. He asserted that medications such as Ritalin are fuel for mass shooters. He also cited that violent video games may also play a role. The mainstream media was quick to condemn North for not sticking to the mainstream’s gun control agenda. Clearly, North, who is the newly appointed NRA President, was never going to follow such protocol. But does he not have a point?
“The problem we’ve got is we’re trying like the dickens to treat the symptom without treating the disease,” North stated while appearing on Fox News Sunday. “And the disease, in this case, isn’t the Second Amendment. The disease is youngsters who are steeped in a culture of violence, they’ve been drugged in many cases. Nearly all of these perpetrators are male and they’re young teenagers in most cases.
“Many of these young boys have been on Ritalin since they were in kindergarten,” North followed up. “Now I’m certainly not a doctor, I’m a Marine, but I can see those kinds of things happening and endangering those two gals.”
The mainstream media is upset, citing that Dimitrios Pagourtzis, the 17-year-old Santa Fe school shooter, hasn’t been confirmed to have been on any medications so far. And there is no evidence he played violent video games. However, that shouldn’t be used to detract from North’s argument. When you take into consideration that North is speaking in a general sense, you realize that he’s completely right.
Mainstream media outlets like The Daily Beast say that there are no substantiated links between medications such as Ritalin being linked to school shootings.
Really? It would seem that the mainstream media is worried about losing their Pharm lobby. Pharmaceutical companies are one of the largest advertisers in the world. Mainstream media websites are often earning thousands of dollars a month from pharmaceutical ads. Is that not a pharmaceutical lobby?
Furthermore, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, the Columbine school shooters, were linked to medications. Harris was taking Luvox, which is an antidepressant. The Virginia Tech shooter was on an antidepressant. The Colorado movie theater shooter, James Holmes, was confirmed to have been seeing a psychiatrist but they’ve refused to release his medical records (go figure). The Thurston high school shooter, Kip Kinkel, was on Prozac when he shot 22 students. The Parkland shooter, Nikolas Cruz, was confirmed to have been on head meds.
The investigation into Pagourtzis has just begun, so the jury is still out on whether or not he was on medications.
When it comes to gun violence, officials have no issue storming gun stores to get to the bottom of how a gun found its way into a shooter’s hands. Why are we not knocking down doctor office’s doors? If every mass shooter is on medications that are proven to modify their thoughts and emotions, North’s point is clearly relevant no matter how diligently the mainstream media attempts to paint it as lunacy.
Mainstream media outlets need to stop allowing pharmaceutical advertisements to appear on their websites. These ads encourage parents to lazily seek out medications to resolve their children’s hyperactive behavior. These medications alter the brain and are all too commonly linked to mass shootings.
When will we take action against the pharma lobby?
