Red Hen Owner Resigns Amid Concerns Over Sanders Fall Out

The Left-wing owner of the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Virginia, Stephanie Wilkinson, has turned in our resignation. Wilkinson infamously asked Press Secretary, Sarah Sanders, as well as her family, to leave her establishment citing “moral” issues with the Trump administration as her reasoning. It was later reported that Wilkinson helped organize a group of protesters who followed Sanders’ family, sans Sarah, to their next dining experience where the protesters further condemned the family members as they tried to eat.

“Elizabeth Outland Branner, the president of the organization, accepted Wilkinson’s resignation Tuesday morning,” NBC reported Branner as stating.

“Considering the events of the past weekend, Stephanie felt it best that for the continued success of Main Street Lexington, she should step aside,” she went on.

The effects of the Wilkinson/Sanders incident were not just limited to Lexington’s Red Hen, but restaurants sharing the same name all over the country that reported financial fall-out and severe condemnation following the incident. Many of the restaurants made clear their disassociation with the Lexington establishment.

One Red Hen based in Swedesboro, New Jersey took to Facebook in an attempt to quell concerns over the establishment’s relationship to Wilkinson’s place of business in Lexington.

Wilkinson claims that several gay waiters working in her restaurant on the evening Sanders and her family patronized the Red Hen was offended by Sanders presence. Some concerns stemmed from the employees being gay and upset over the Trump administrations banning of transgenders from military.

“Tell me what you want me to do. I can ask her to leave,” Wilkinson said to the waiters. “They said yes.”

Unconfirmed reports claim the Red Hen’s business dropped off dramatically following the very public incident.
