Rose McGowan indicted on felony drug charge
Actress and now activist, Rose McGowan, has been indicted in Virginia by a grand jury on one felony count of cocaine possession. Back in November, McGowan turned herself into authorities in Virginia back in November and Tweeted out to her fans, “Are they trying to silence me?”
“There is a warrant out for my arrest in Virginia,” she wrote. “What a load of HORSES**T.”
McGowan and over 80 women accused Hollywood Mogul, Harvey Weinstein, of sexual assault and rape. He is currently standing trial in New York.
Back in November, McGowan’s wallet was found on a plane by a staff member. Two bags of powder were located in the wallet and subsequent testing showed them to be cocaine. McGowan claims that she was on a flight for the Women’s March in D.C., the next day, she received an odd Instagram message from someone she didn’t know, saying, “You left your wallet on your Saturday flight with your 2 bags of coke.”
McGowan and her attorney claim that her wallet was left unattended for a long period of time and that she filed a claim with Lost Luggage. She says that she only used “marijuana” in the past, referencing rumors she was a heavy drug user in her early days.
“Imagining I’m going into sisterly solidarity, I can think of nothing more opposed to that, energetically, that I would want in my body at that moment,” she said, according to wsvn, referring to the cocaine.
