British companies are raising red flags with unions and employer organizations throughout the country for moving towards employee chip implants. The companies claim that the implanted microchips bolster security and improve convenience for workers. Critics claim this will allow employers to control and micromanage employees. Critics also believe that employees risk job loss for refusing to comply.
One chip company, BioTeq, allows the employer to “conveniently” implant the chip between the index finger and the thumb of the employee. Another company produces a chip smaller than a bird seed.
Employees that utilize implanted microchips will be able to use them for opening their office doors, start their car, and store their medical data. The last part of that list should terrify us all, honestly.
The UK’s CBI which represents nearly 200,000 UK businesses is sounding the alarms over the trend.
“While technology is changing the way we work, this makes for distinctly uncomfortable reading. Firms should be concentrating on rather more immediate priorities and focusing on engaging their employees.” A CBI spokesperson said per TheGuardian.
Frances O’Grady, the General Secretary of the British Trade Union, believes employers microchipping employees decimates worker privacy.
“We know workers are already concerned that some employers are using tech to control and micromanage, whittling away their staff’s right to privacy.
“Microchipping would give bosses even more power and control over their workers. There are obvious risks involved, and employers must not brush them aside, or pressure staff into being chipped.”
Microchip Companies Are Going To Profit Huge
Microchips cost between $91 and $340 per chip. Chip producer Biohax stands to see incredible profits as more UK and European companies get on board with microchipping.
The pitch is as simple as it is archaic: The chips improve security. The chips can promote convenience.
A bank can microchip employees and protect sensitive documents and data.
Don’t worry about your medical records, we can just scan your hand.
You don’t need car keys anymore, just wave your hand at the door’s handle.
It’s not hiding the arrival 1984, it’s throwing a big grand party and shouting it from the rafters.
Sweden Microchipping Underway
Sweden has already microchipped 4,000 of its citizens. Swedish citizens can store their social media information in the implanted hand chips.
While there are a number of critics, Swedish people are lining up to get their implants.
America Is Already Microchipping Employees
We live in a society that easily persuades people to exchange their rights and privacy for safety and convenience. Microchipping fits right in with such persuasion and marketing.
Pretty soon, your vaccine records will be embedded into your skin. A health worker can easily scan your medical records at your home. Maybe your credit score and social credit score can be stored for even more convenience. The mindnumbing and terrifying possibilities are truly endless. While this might feel unsettling, at least you can open your car door with a mere wave.
