Womens’ Jiu Jitsu Self Defense Video Is Powerful
A newly released Gracie video, just in time for Sexual Assault month, puts on ferocious display the importance of Jiu Jitsu for women. The video was created to curb “victim blaming,” but the message I saw in this was that women who know Jiu Jitsu are able to physically defend themselves from attackers of all shapes, genders and sizes.
The video plays like an action movie and completely inspired me to get my Jiu Jitsu training in today!
For women, Jiu Jitsu is an essential self-defense. Every woman should know Jiu Jitsu. The core competency of Jiu Jitsu plays well with how a woman would need to defend herself.
Yes, concealed carry is great, but Jiu Jitsu is the foremost defense against an attacker who chooses to grab you. Check out our Jiu Jitsu for women article.
Too many women pass on getting proper self-defense training. A little Jiu Jitsu training can go a long ways in thwarting an attacker who isn’t expecting the “victim” to be able to fight back. Jiu Jitsu teaches women how to use their attacker’s weight, leverage and even clothing against them. You can choke a larger man using his shirt.
